Hello, my message to you this week holds some very important information about holding WI Annual Meetings this year, and I hope that the following will help as there is a lot of incorrect information going around. If you are unable to hold your WI Annual Meeting before the end of September , this message from Alison Woolford, our Chair of Advisers, advises you on what you should do :.
Although we are being advised that the Charities Commission extension is to the end of September – and may be extended further – it will not be possible for all WIs to meet by this date, nor any in the foreseeable future. You will need to have a committee meeting of some sort – real or virtual – and Minute that due to Covid 19 you are unable to hold an Annual Meeting this year. However, you do need to ensure that your end of year financial paperwork is examined and forwarded to WI House along with a copy of your Annual Report.
If you are concerned about any aspect of this, please do not hesitate to contact me or another Adviser. Remember your Adviser is there to help you in situations like this and their number is in the Hampshire County Federation Yearbook. I hope this advice will help you decide on the best way forward for your WI. We have sadly had to cancel our planned meeting at Portsmouth Guildhall on the 23 September , as they have told us that they are unable to accommodate our numbers whilst adhering to social distancing.
